Marking schemes for pre-primary to grade 4

Everything in an exam is marked out of 10. The mark of 10 is linked to an adjective:

• Exceptional ability (10)

• Excellent ability (9)

• Very good ability (8)

• Good ability (7)

• Fairly good ability (6)

• Fair ability (5)

• Adequate ability (4)

• Limited ability (3)

• Very limited ability (2)

• Extremely limited ability (1)

This means that if, for example, you are a grade 4 student who got an 8 out of 10 on your barre. This means you demonstrated a very good ability to show the barre exercises with correct posture and weight placement, co-ordination, control, line, spatial awareness, dynamic values, timing, responsiveness to music, expression, projection, interpretation, and communication.
